Afton Fair Pageant

The 2008 Afton Fair Pageant will be held on Wednesday, July 9th starting at 2:00 PM. Check in time is 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The pageant consists of three division, which are detailed below.

Beautiful Baby Division of the St*rs

The Beautiful Baby Division is open to girls and boys 0 - 12 months, and 13 - 24 months old. Each contestant makes one appearance in a dress or formal outfit. Winners receive a paid entry to the New York State Pageant of the Stars - in Cortland New York and a trophy, sash and crown. All others get a trophy and a discount at the state pageant.

Pageant of the St*rs

Open to boys 2 - 3, 4 - 5 and 6 - 10 years of age - and girls in the following age groups: 2 - 3 - Teeny Miss St*r, 4 - 5 Years - Little Miss St*r, 6 - 8 Years - Junior Miss St*r and 9 - 12 Years - Miss Pre-Teen St*r.

Each contestant makes two appearances:

Casual Wear -

any informal outfit - such as sun dresses for younger girls, jeans and top, T-shirt and shorts, etc.

Formal Wear -

Dress, Gown (if you have one) and for boys, long pants and shirt.

Every winner receives a crown, sash, and trophy - and paid entry to the New York State Pageant of the St*rs. Every other contestant receives a beautiful trophy for competing - and a discount certificate toward the state pageant.

Miss Teen-Ager Pageant

Open to single girls 13 - 18 years of age. There are four categories of competition:

• An interview with the panel of judges.
• Casual wear (shorts and T-shirt, or jeans and top, or blouse and skirt).
• Your choice of gown or party dress.
• One minute speech on stage for the top 5 finalists.
• We have discontinued the swim suit competition.

The new Miss Teen-Ager wins a fully-paid three days at Norwich, New York, August 21 - 23 to compete in the Miss Teen-Ager Pageant of New York State. The new Miss New York State Teen-Ager wins $1000 Cash Scholarship and also a trip to Albany, to be special guest of the New York State Legislature.

Photogenic Competition

There is also an optional Photogenic Competition. If you wish to enter that, bring your picture and a $10 entry fee with you to the pageant. Pictures are returned to you after the judging.
