Antique Tractor Pull Rules
- Membership is required in order to enter. Membership is $20.00 for one year, which allows member to participate in all pulls. Application at end of rules.
- The pull is a noncompetitive pull for fun and demonstration only. No prizes or trophies are to be awarded as you are pulling against yourself. Driver must be a member in good standing to participate.
- Consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Anyone obviously under the influence will not be allowed to pull.
- All tractor series must have been introduced before 1960 and have attached serial number. The date of manufacturing may be checked.
- Fordson model F and N with worm drive will not be allowed to pull due to their tendency to rear-up and overturn.
- All drivers will attend a driver's meting before pulling.
- Operator will be at least 14 years of age. Operators between the ages of 14 - 18 years of age must have a pH or FFA Operators Certificate or written consent from their parent or legal guardian.
- All contestants are required to sign an insurance waiver. in accordance with Fair regulations.
- Rubber tired and steel wheeled tractors as well as crawler tractors will be allowed to pull. Tire chains or other traction enhancing devices will not be allowed.
- All tractors must have workable brakes and the operator may be asked to demonstrate their effectiveness.
- All drawbars must be of original design and a maximum of 20" in height.
- There shall be no adjusting of hydraulic drawbars while pulling.
- Gasoline, kerosene, diesel or LP may be used as per the tractor's original design. Fuel additives for performance enhancement are not allowed.
- All tractors will be as originally designed with no alterations, modifications or performance enhancements of any kind.
- All tractor engines will operate at no more than original factory RPM +10%. Pull will be in 1st or 2nd gear and below 3 MPH.
- Tractor may be weighted with loaded tires plus one factory style donut weight. Unloaded tires will be allowed the number of factory style donut wheel weights equivalent to the weight of fluid for that size tires plus 1 extra donut weight. Wheel weights shall be securely fastened to the wheels.
- Fluid will be allowed in front tires or one (1) set of original style front weights will be allowed.
- Cut or otherwise altered tires will not be allowed. Tire size must be within two (2) sizes of the original, as per the manufacturer or Nebraska test.
- ALL SHIELDS AS ORIGINALLY MANUFACTURED FOR SAFETY WILL BE PROPERLY INSTALLED.
- If on the first pull, the distance covered is less than 50 feet a restart may be made from that point on. Only shifting of gears and restarting of the tractor is allowed.
- No on the go shifting, including use of torque amplifier, power director, select-o-speed, ampli-torc or the like. Low range on the torque amplifier may be used.
- The tractor must remain in bounds at all times during the pull. Boundaries will be designated.
- Only the tractor operator may be on the tractor from hook to unhook, and must remain seated. When hooking and unhooking, tractor must be in neutral and operator shall have both hands in air as signaling such.
- If any pad falls off the tractor from hook until unhook, the puller will be red flagged and disqualified.
- The flagger will signal to start the pull with a green flag and stop with a red flag. If in motion when a red flag is waved, the puller will stop immediately.
- If a tractor's front end rises more that the 18&qout; above the track, the driver will be red flagged and disqualified.
- The captain of the pulling staff will decide all judgment calls. The captain may confer with other members of the pulling staff.
- Any acts observed by the staff and considered unsafe, will be grounds for disqualifications.
