This page contains the general rules for Floral Hall Youth Department classes.

General Rules

  1. Youth exhibitors are considered anyone who has not yet reached their 21st birthday by January 1, 2008, but no younger than 4 years old. May not be married.
  2. Youth exhibitors staying in campers or trailers must be chaperoned by their parent, legal guardian or have signed a Designated Chaperone Form and filed with the designated chaperone as well as in file at the fair office.
  3. Youth Exhibitor Tickets are not required.
  4. Advance entry is required for all entries in Floral Hall. Last date for entries is Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 1:00 P.M.

  5. Entries may be placed Tuesday, July 8, 2008 between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Baked goods and cut flowers may be placed up until 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2008
  6. Exhibitor tags for all items must be properly filled out and written legibly, and be tied onto the Exhibit, Tags and entry forms will be available in Floral Hall at time of delivery. You may download forms from our website at: www.theaftonfair.com though tags will still be available in Floral Hall. You may pick up tags at the Fair Secretary's office one week prior to the fair.
  7. Only one entry per class unless otherwise specified.
  8. All entries must be made, grown or prepared by the exhibitor.
  9. All artwork must be framed or matted - so that it may be hung on hooks - no tape, non-compliance will result in your work being disqualified. No exceptions.
  10. Any projects or displays (examples: farms with animals, tractors, etc. agricultural related science projects etc.) or something similar can not be any larger than 24" x 24". Any displays larger will be disqualified.
  11. Exhibits may be picked up Sunday July 13, 2008 5:00PM - 9:00 PM and Monday, July 14, 2008 between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 (noon) or make arrangements with the Chairman of the Department for pick-up in the Fair Office no later than Tuesday July 15, 2008 noon
  12. All entries not picked up or arrangements made for will become the property of the Fair after the deadline.
  13. All Sections and classes are open to both Boys and Girls. If the department chairperson determines there are sufficient entries for separate judging they may do so.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Every effort will be made to ensure the safety of your exhibit(s), however the Afton Driving Park & Agricultural Association (Afton Fair) will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.
