2009 Firemen's Parade Results

We had a great turnout for the 2009 Afton Fair Firemen's Parade on Wednesday, the opening day of the fair. Thank you to all of the Fire Departments, Auxiliary's, Schools and other organizations who took part.

We are hoping to get a better turnout for 2010 and see some floats and more school bands.

Firemen's Parade Rules and Prize List

Open to all Volunteer Fire Departments in New York State and the State of Pennsylvania and their Auxiliaries. Each company must have 6 men or women in line in order to receive 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prizes and Trophies. Firemen and 1 (one) guest will be admitted free at the gate. The Fire Company coming the longest distance will be awarded $20.00.

Class 1
BEST APPEARING DEPARTMENT IN FORMAL DRESS

Uniform coat, shirt, tie, hat, pants, shoes all matching.
1st Place: $60.00, 2nd Place: $40.00, 3rd Place: $20.00
Plus Trophies for all three places.

Hat, shirt, pants, shoes all matching.

BEST APPEARING LADIES AUXILIARY

Based on appearance and marching.
1st Place: $60.00, 2nd Place: $40.00, 3rd Place: $20.00

Class 3
LESS THAN SIX (6) PERSONNEL

In either Sport or Formal Dress and one (1) Fire in Line, the Department will receive $10.00. This also includes Auxiliaries with less than six (6) in line. Auxiliaries don't have to have a vehicle in line to march.
No Trophies will be awarded, only $10.00

$150.00 to participating schools
Trophies will be awarded to: 1st Place, 2nd Place & 3rd Place.

BEST COLOR GUARD CLASS A & B

Trophies will be awarded for: 1st Place, 2nd Place & 3rd Place of each class.

** High School Classifications. School enrollement based on 7 - 12 with the division between Class A and B schools being based upon the average sum of the lowest enrollement plus the high enrollement of school bands in competition on the date of the event.

County Parade Rules apply to all units. Judging will conform to rules and regulations to Central New York Firemen's Association.
Judges
Judges for the Firemen's Parade, Band, Colorguard, and Float competition will be selected by the superintendent of the Firemen's Parade.
