General Rules
- Entries may be received Monday, July 7th, 2008 between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
- Entries will close Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM. No late entries accepted.
- Baked goods and other food items, plants, flowers and produce, should be placed Wednesday, July 9, 2008 between 9:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. No exhibits may be placed after this time.
- Judging begins Wednesday. July 9, 2008 at 11:00 A. M.
- No one will be allowed in the exhibit area during judging.
- EXCEPTION to this will be those with table settings which must be prepared by the exhibitor.
- A time will be set by the judges for you to set up your presentation, individually.
- All entries must be properly tagged with tags provided at time of entry. Exhibitor is responsible for filling out these tags (one (1) for each item entered) as well as making sure it is entered in the proper department and class. If you have questions inquire of Department Chairperson or Superintendent.
- No article may be entered in any department which was previously shown at the fair.
- You may enter no more than two (2) items per class, but only one (l) premium will be given.
- Any, entry cannot compete for more than one (1) premium. For example: a single table cloth cannot be entered into cross-stitch and embroidery classes/sections even if both techniques are used.
- ENTRY FEE is 10% of first premium. There must be three (3) entries in a class in order to receive a cash award, otherwise, ribbons will be awarded to the entry.
- Each exhibitor must purchase a Exhibitor Pass at $7.00 each.
- Prize for Best of Show will be awarded in each Department as well as an overall Best of Show.
- Exhibits may be picked up Sunday July 13, 2008 between 5:00 PM.- 9:00 PM and/or Monday 10:00AM - 12:00 (noon) or make arrangements with the Chairman of the Department for pick-up in the Fair Office no later than Tuesday July 15, 2008 noon. After this date all entries left will become property of the fair.
- All entries not picked up or arrangements made for will become the property of the Fair after the deadline.
- All Sections and classes are open to both Men and Women. If the department chairperson determines there are sufficient entries for separate judging, they may do so.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Every effort will be made to ensure the safety of your exhibit(s), however the Afton Driving Park & Agricultural Association Afton Fair) will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.
