The Afton Fair, Afton, New York, July 9, 2009, 1:00 PM
The Afton Fair is inviting all children to come out and enjoy the Harness Racing Event on Thursday, July 9, 2009. Special activities include a coloring contest and a free Activity Book.

Enter the coloring contest by downloading a Harness Racing coloring sheet, coloring it, and filling out the contestant information on the sheet provided. Coloring sheets are also available at Harpursville Farm and Garden, McDowell & Walker feed stores, at the Afton Fair Office and have been distributed by Afton, Harpursville and Bainbridge Elementary Schools. All entries must be submitted to the Afton Fair Office by the close of the Fair on Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
Entries will be catagorized as follows:
On race day, 3 winners from each of the above age groups will be chosen. Winners will have the opportunity to join the winner of one of the 15 harness races in the winner's circle and will receive a picture taken with the horse and driver. In order to receive their awards, youth must be seated in the grandstand special seating by 1:00 PM. All participants will receive ribbons.
Additionally, all fifteen winners will be entered into a drawing for one (1) coupon redeemable for a $15 wristband for rides at The Afton Fair. The drawing for the winner will take place between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM during the Harness Racing Event. The winner must be present to win. The coupon is redeemable for wristbands on Thursday or Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, or Saturday or Sunday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The coupon cannot be used for the $20 Saturday Super Saver Special, is not transferable and is good for 1 wristband only.

The first 200 youth to attend the Afton Fair Harness Racing Day will receive a bookmark that can be redeemed at the Harness Racing Museum for an Activity Book produced by the United States Trotting Association. This Activity Book is an educational piece that teaches about the history of the Standarbred horse and Harness Racing.
