Afton Fair Junior Idol Competition

The Afton Fair will be holding a Junior Idol singing competition. The competition will feature two age groups, a Mini Junior Idol for ages 5 - 12 and a Teen Junior Idol for ages 13 - 18.

Junior Idol Competition Format

• Competion will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009. Each contestant must be prepared to sing two songs Times will be:
  • Mini Competition: 12:00 - 2:00 PM (Check-in by 11:30 AM)
  • Teen Competition: 2:00 - 4:00 PM (Check-in by 1:30 PM)

• Selection of winners will be determined by a combined vote of the judges and the audience.
• Audience members may vote. Each vote will cost $1.00.
• The top four contestants in each age group will receive a trophy.
• First place finishers in each age group will receive 70% of registration fees.
• Second place finishers in each age group will receive 30% of registration fees.
• Contestants who pre-register by July 8, 2009 will receive one free admission pass for the contestant & one accompanying adult.

Junior Idol Competition Rules & Regulations

• All contestants must provide their own music.
• All acts must be solo performances.
• All music must be karaoke format.
  • No lead vocals are permitted. (Limited back-up vocals are allowed)
• All participants must register by completing the registration form, which includes a Non-refundable $10 registration fee. (Make check payable to: Afton Driving Park).
• Registration must be completed by designated check-in times as noted above.
