01/21/2010 -- Gillette Shows Comes Back to The Afton Fair in 2010
The Afton Fair Board returned from the 122nd annual convention of the New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs very excited and pleased to be able to offer patrons of the 121st Afton Fair the award winning midway by the Gillette Shows of Pittsfield Massachusetts. At this year’s convention, her peers awarded Showman of the Year to Betty Gillette of Gillette Shows.
The Gillette Shows were last at Afton in 2006 and they are excited to be coming back. They have been in business for more than sixty years, since 1947 when Brothers Art and Jules Gillette started it. The show is now operated by Betty Gillette who oversees the operation and her sons Jerry and Jules (Mims) who take care of all of the setup and running of the show.
The dates for The Afton Fair in 2010 will be changing to July 21 to July 25. So mark your calendars and plan on coming to the 2010 Afton Fair.
