The New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs held its annual meeting from January 16 through 19 in Rochester, NY. The conference holds seminars on topics such as advertising and sponsorships as well as agricultural topics such as animal health. Providers of entertainment, supplies and many other organizations are on hand to inform the representatives of the Fair Boards what they have available and discuss pricing as well as even confirm a visit to a fair.
The Afton Fair took 1st place 2009 Red Wagon Parade!
This year The Afton Fair had representation from the following board members: Rhonda Barriger, Dennis Fletcher, Barb and John Niles and Frank Tingley. Spouses that also attended were Bill Barriger, Linda Fletcher and Lia Tingley. They collected an enormous amount of material for the Board to review.
Each year at the convention the Red Wagon Parade is held. This years theme was "Circus Circus". Each fair attending develops a float based on the theame and dresses up in costumes. The winner this year was none other than the Afton Fair!
